India UK Getting Ready for an Early Harvest Trade Agreement

India and the United Kingdom are aiming to resume negotiations on a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) on 1 November 2021 as the two countries agreed for an Early Harvest Agreement by March 2022 that would allow both to establish selective gains in commodities and services.

Both India and the EU are seen as enthusiastic to resume long-awaited talks on a bilateral free trade agreement that was on hold for almost eight years. Fresh negotiations are expected to focus on key issues including access to each other’s markets for goods and services, investment protection and geographical indications.
